Sanjay Raut Raises Concerns Over West Bengal Elections
Sanjay Raut, a leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), has raised alarms about the integrity of the electoral process in West Bengal. He linked these concerns to the influence of the BJP and the Election Commission.
Raut criticized Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging bias towards the BJP. He stated, “Distrust on democracy is dangerous; people are worried about their votes being tampered since Modi, Shah, and EC chief are in power.”
Political activity intensified ahead of the West Bengal assembly election results. Mamata Banerjee visited an EVM strong room before the results were announced, prompting further scrutiny.
Raut highlighted that Banerjee’s slogan “Jagate Raho” calls for vigilance during this critical time. He compared it to a similar slogan used by Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh.
He expressed concern over large forces present during the elections, indicating a potential threat to democracy. Raut warned that such an atmosphere breeds distrust among voters.
Mamata Banerjee’s efforts to ensure transparency may face significant challenges from political dynamics involving the BJP and the Election Commission. Observers remain watchful as election results approach.
