The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented a strict dress code for candidates appearing in NEET UG 2026, scheduled for May 3, 2026. This measure aims to ensure a fair and secure examination process.

The NTA has released an advisory outlining dress code norms and permitted items for candidates. Candidates are encouraged to wear light clothing to facilitate proper frisking. Full sleeves and woollen garments are permitted if required, but candidates must report early for security checks.

Key dress code guidelines:

• Footwear guidelines specify that slippers and low-heeled sandals are preferred.
• Candidates must avoid heavy, layered, or thick fabric clothing.
• Metal items like buttons, zips, chains, or accessories are not allowed.
• Hoodies, jackets, or full-sleeve T-shirts are prohibited.

Candidates can carry transparent water bottles inside the examination hall. Articles or objects of faith are permitted but must be reported and inspected by the authorities. Compliance with the advisory is necessary for maintaining order during the exam.
