Chandigarh is under a yellow alert for severe weather, with thunderstorms and gusty winds expected to intensify early next week. The India Meteorological Department issued the alert, predicting gusty winds reaching 50 to 60 km/h, along with rainfall and potential hailstorms on Monday and Tuesday.

Currently, Chandigarh’s maximum temperature stands at 36.2 degrees Celsius, which is 1.3 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature recorded was 21.9 degrees Celsius, also below normal by 1.4 degrees. Seasonal rainfall since March 1 has reached 75.7 mm, exceeding the seasonal average by 135.1%.

The India Meteorological Department has also predicted above-normal rainfall across most parts of Himachal Pradesh during May. This forecast follows a period of significant rainfall in the region, which could lead to further developments in local weather patterns.
