Commercial lpg gas cylinder price
The government has implemented a record increase in commercial LPG prices amidst a global energy crisis. On May 1, 2026, the price of commercial LPG cylinders surged significantly across India, impacting hotels and restaurants reliant on this fuel.
Key price changes:
- The average increase for commercial LPG (19 kg cylinders) is ₹993.
- In Delhi, the price rose from ₹2,078.50 to ₹3,071.50.
- In Mumbai, the price increased from ₹2,031 to ₹3,024.
- The cost of 5 kg market-priced LPG cylinders jumped from ₹549 to ₹810.50.
This rise in LPG cylinder prices occurs against a backdrop of sharply increasing global crude oil prices. These increases are linked to supply disruptions tied to ongoing tensions in West Asia.
Despite the hike in commercial rates, domestic LPG prices remain unchanged. The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas confirmed that retail pump prices for petrol and diesel also stayed steady.
Recently, bulk diesel prices have also risen from ₹137 per litre to over ₹149 per litre. Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi commented on the situation, urging citizens to compare international fuel costs.
The current state of fuel pricing reflects broader economic pressures as countries navigate the complexities of the global energy crisis. This significant adjustment in LPG pricing will likely affect operational costs for many businesses relying on these fuel sources.
