In response to the intense summer heat, TTD has implemented extensive measures to provide relief for pilgrims visiting the Tirumala temple. These changes aim to improve the overall experience for the thousands of devotees expected during the summer rush.

Before this initiative, pilgrims faced challenges due to limited facilities and rising temperatures. The expectations were high as TTD prepared for an influx of visitors.

Now, TTD has spent approximately two crore rupees to enhance facilities for pilgrims. Key changes include:

  • Shaded shelters from Batagangamma Circle to Gogarbham Dam Circle up to the Outer Ring Road.
  • Mobile water drums positioned throughout the area to ensure easy access to drinking water.
  • A total of 16 medical centers available for immediate assistance.

Additionally, TTD has increased the distribution of laddus significantly. They have made an extra 3.50 lakh laddus available during this busy period. This is a crucial service for many pilgrims who consider laddu distribution an integral part of their visit.

Accommodation policies have also shifted. TTD now prioritizes families with more members while solo pilgrims may not receive room allocations. This change reflects an understanding of family dynamics among visitors.

The number of barbers available has increased as well, with a total of 1,152 barbers, including 269 women, providing services to pilgrims. This ensures that all visitors can access grooming services conveniently.

Tirumala’s limited accommodation capacity remains a concern, as it restricts allocation for more than 60,000 pilgrims at once. Despite these enhancements, officials have not disclosed any plans to expand lodging options further.

With these improvements, TTD aims to create a more comfortable environment for all visitors during this peak season.
