Vijay’s historic political debut on May 4, 2026 coincides with the delayed release of his film Jana Nayagan. Fans are now demanding a new title card for him as Chief Minister.

Vijay is leading in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, with his party crossing 100 of the state’s 234 seats. The film Jana Nayagan was originally scheduled for release in January but faced delays due to certification issues.

The film has incurred a financial loss of over Rs 70 crore because of these setbacks. Additionally, it leaked online in April, raising piracy concerns within the Tamil film industry.

The official release date for Jana Nayagan is still unconfirmed. The producer congratulated Vijay on his political success, highlighting the significance of this moment.

Vijay is expected to follow in the footsteps of MG Ramachandran and Jayalalitha to become the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The film is directed by H Vinoth and is touted as Vijay’s final project before fully entering politics.

Yet, fans are eager for a title card that reflects his new status. Many have taken to social media to request that he be recognized as ‘CM Thalapathy Vijay’.

Vijay expressed sadness over the ongoing censor issue but remains focused on his new role in politics. The matter concerning the film’s release is currently sub judice.
