R.B. Chaudhary’s tragic death in a car accident has left the South Indian film industry in mourning. The incident occurred on May 5, 2026, on the Beawar-Pindwara highway in Rajasthan.
Chaudhary, the father of actor Jeeva, was returning home after attending a wedding when his car lost control while trying to avoid a cow. The vehicle collided with a safety divider at approximately 3:30 PM, resulting in his immediate death.
He was 76 years old at the time of his death and had produced 98 films under the banner of Super Good Films since 1988. Notable films include Nattamai, Suryavamsam, and Jilla.
The driver of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was referred to Jodhpur for treatment. Following the incident, community members gathered at the hospital mortuary to pay their respects.
Chaudhary is survived by his wife and four children, including actor Jeeva. R.B. Chaudhary’s team stated, “His immense contribution to Indian cinema, especially through decades of memorable films, will always be remembered.”
His body will be transported to Chennai for final rites. Observers expect significant tributes from across the Tamil film industry, including statements from prominent figures like Vijay Thalapathy.
