Trent Rockets’ Dominant Performance
Trent Rockets’ Dominant Performance
The Trent Rockets have moved to the top of The Hundred women’s table after securing their fourth consecutive victory. This win against Birmingham Phoenix at Trent Bridge significantly strengthens their position for the latter stages of the tournament.
Sophia Dunkley was a key player, scoring 65 runs off 37 balls. This marks her third consecutive fifty and extends her lead in the run-scoring charts. Her performance helped the Rockets chase down a target of 123 runs with 16 balls to spare.
Despite losing Nat Sciver-Brunt for 24 runs and Ash Gardner to consecutive deliveries, the home side maintained their momentum. Kim Garth also contributed with a bowling figure of 4-23.
Phoenix’s Struggle and Fire’s Boost
For Birmingham Phoenix, the match began with Davina Perrin, a talent, starting energetically. However, her dismissal by Kim Garth highlighted a recurring batting issue for the Phoenix. Alice Capsey’s challenging tournament continued as she was bowled for one run by Charley Phillips, who had figures of 1-22.
Ellyse Perry also departed for the same score after a combination from her Australian teammates Gardner, with figures of 1-30, and Beth Mooney. Tammy Beaumont was run out for 24 runs off 21 balls by a throw from Dunkley, leaving Phoenix at four wickets down for 55 runs.
Contributions from Emma Lamb, who scored 45 runs off 34 balls, and Annerie Dercksen, with 21 runs off 16 balls, helped Phoenix reach a competitive total of 122 runs. However, this total was ultimately not enough against the Rockets’ batting lineup, and this third defeat in five matches severely impacts Phoenix’s chances of reaching the knockouts. According to one report, a defeat here would put them near elimination, as they had only won one game in four matches prior to this contest.
Meanwhile, Welsh Fire improved their qualification prospects with a three-wicket victory over Manchester Super Giants. Their bowling attack restricted the home side to 85-9. Orla Prendergast, replacing Sophie Devine, was a standout performer for Fire, achieving the best figures in the women’s competition this year with 4-18.
Despite chasing a low target, Fire lost seven wickets before securing the win with nine balls remaining. Sophie Ecclestone’s bowling figures of 3-14 were not enough to turn the tide for Manchester. This result moves Welsh Fire to 12 points, placing them one spot and two points behind their opponents in the table, with two games left to play.
Upcoming Fixtures
With Southern Brave and Trent Rockets largely assured of the top two positions and a place in the knockout stages, only one spot in the women’s eliminator remains contested.
Following Wednesday’s four matches, Thursday will feature a single double-header. The London Spirit women’s team will host MI London from 3pm, followed by the men’s teams from 6:30pm. Both fixtures will be available for live viewing.

The Trent Rockets Women have been seeking their first title after failing to win a championship in the initial five seasons of The Hundred. They have shown an improved performance in the ongoing Hundred Women’s 2026, moving to the second spot on the ladder with 16 points before this match.
The tournament’s finals are scheduled for a Sunday.
