Salah’s Future Remains Undecided Amid Transfer Speculation

Reports suggesting that former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was close to joining Besiktas have been denied by his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa. Widespread speculation had indicated an agreement was imminent for Salah, who recently concluded a nine-year tenure at Anfield after his contract with Liverpool was cancelled at the end of last season.

Issa took to social media to refute these claims, stating, “I personally do not know where Mohamed will play next season. What does that tell you?” He further clarified their approach to transfer discussions, writing, “It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise.” Salah, aged 34, has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in recent years, though some clubs are reportedly hesitant due to his financial demands.

During his time at Liverpool, Salah achieved significant success, contributing to the team’s victories in multiple competitions. His accolades include two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the Community Shield. He made 315 Premier League appearances for the club, placing him fifth in the club’s all-time list for the competition.

Key Player Movements and Club Interests

In other transfer news, Bayern Munich has reportedly informed Real Madrid that their 24-year-old French forward, Michael Olise, is not available for transfer this summer. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund and Germany attacker Karim Adeyemi, also 24, is reportedly set to join Barcelona in a deal valued at 31m euros.

The transfer market also sees interest in defenders, with Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly competing for RB Leipzig and Netherlands defender Lutsharena Geertruida, aged 25. Geertruida spent last season on loan at Sunderland. Manchester City and Tottenham are reportedly interested in Portuguese winger Francisco Trincao, aged 26, and could potentially intercept his proposed move from Sporting to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli.

Additionally, Hull City has lodged a bid for Mjallby midfielder and Swedish World Cup player Elliot Stroud, aged 24.

Goalkeeper and Defensive Targets Across Europe

Several clubs are looking to bolster their goalkeeping and defensive ranks. Manchester United is reportedly seeking a goalkeeper to provide competition for Belgian Senne Lammens, aged 24, and is considering Paraguay’s Orlando Gill, aged 26, who is understood to have a release clause at Argentine side San Lorenzo.

Newcastle United’s prospects of acquiring England goalkeeper James Trafford, aged 23, from Manchester City have reportedly improved, as Aston Villa, a potential rival for his signature, aims to retain their number one goalkeeper, Argentine Emiliano Martinez, aged 33. However, Chelsea is also reportedly interested in Trafford.

In defence, Greece centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos, aged 28, is attracting attention from multiple Premier League sides and other European clubs after an impressive season with relegated West Ham. Como is reportedly hoping to sign Colombia defender Davison Sanchez, aged 30, but may be deterred by Galatasaray’s asking price. New Benfica boss Marco Silva is reportedly preparing a bid to sign his former Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha, aged 31, from Bayern Munich following his loan spell at Tottenham last season.
